SC Kids

At Sonrise, we have a dream of a multigenerational church with a spirit of excellence where children are embraced and equipped in the present. We love and believe in the next generation. We want the church to be fun place kids look forward to coming to and families are welcome.

Children’s Ministry Leader: Meredith Stein –

  1. A church that loves and believes in the next generation
  2. A church that wants families to feel welcome and safe
  3. A church that believes in the word of God and the move of the Spirit
  4. A church that desires kids to be embraced and equipped in the present

All classes are open during both services unless specified below.

Crawlers (0 – 18 Months)

The Crawlers class is located in the east part of the building through the back doors of the gym. We have trained volunteers ready to watch your kids, while you can enjoy the service! The classroom is open during the 9 am service.

Walkers (19 Months – 3 Years)

Your kids will be released after worship and can be dropped off to their class in the west hallway. We have trained volunteers who are equipped to spend time with your kids and provide a safe environment. In this class, we love playing, having snacks, and learning about Jesus.

Preschool (3 – 4 Years )

Your kids will be released after worship and can be dropped off at their classes in the west hallway. They will be welcomed by SC Kid Leaders in the preschool class. The kids will sing songs, play games, learn a Bible lesson, and play with friends.

Kindergarten – Grade 5

K – Gr 5s will be released after worship to their large group class in the Fireside Room off of the main foyer. K- Gr 2s will need to be picked up after service and Gr 3-5s will be released to find their parents. In class, the kids sing, get creative, play games, and learn about God.

Junior High (Grade 6 – 8)

We will be running the class during the 9 AM service in the library. We seek to introduce the basics of the Christian faith through a series of fun talks and discussions.

SC Kids runs on Sunday mornings and we need all parents to check their children in at the Self Check-in Station before heading into service. Each parent will receive a name tag and security tag for their kids. When it is time for pick up teachers must require the parents to show the security slip before taking their child.

It is important to have a secure system to ensure kids are dropped off and picked by their guardians. When entering a family for the first time, we need to gather the parent’s name, phone number, email, and home address. We need to get any children’s first and last name, birthdate, medical notes such as allergies, and grade. We also need an emergency contact other than the parents.
